Description

This 200 square foot roll of cork underlayment measures 50 feet by 4 feet and is 3 mm thick, making it suitable for placement under hardwood, carpet, and ceramic tile floors. However, it is not intended for use under cork flooring.

Cork, a sustainable natural resource, offers several intrinsic properties. It is fire-resistant, not supporting flame spread and releasing no toxic gases when burned. Furthermore, cork serves as an effective thermal and acoustic insulator. Composed of more than 100 million air-filled, prism-shaped cells per cubic inch, it effectively blocks heat conduction and sound transmission. This makes cork underlayment especially beneficial in multi-story buildings, offices, museums, and places of worship where noise reduction is valued.

Additionally, cork features anti-microbial qualities and natural resistance to mold, mildew, and pests, including termites, thanks to Suberin—a natural substance found in cork that acts as an insect deterrent.
